Restorative, Thursday at 5:15

i was asked a good question after class about the shaking or trembling that can happen in long held poses like savasana or during restorative yoga. this is not uncommon. my understanding is that the shaking is the discharge of the nervous system. generally, the surges of energy can suggest that the body is releasing emotions, tension, memories or perhaps trauma. my sense is that cranial sacral therapy would be an effective modality to help support and further explore this response.
