Restorative Yoga, Thursday 5:15

the universe seems to be setting me up to work one on one with people. the women who showed up this evening was recovering from breast cancer, chemotherapy, and a recent surgery. she shared that she was feeling achy around her chest and shoulders. her spirit was bright and her eyes were clear.

we opened the practice with a cushy seated meditation. you know how when you're with certain people, it feels like you could sit for hours and days without moving? there's a profound sense of becoming still without holding yourself still. we must have sat for 8 to 10 minutes or so, breathing into the belly and tuning into the central current up and down the spine.

supta baddha konasana: bolster lengthwise beneath the spine with a blanket under the head. rolled blankets under the thighs for support. i spent time at her head with my hands on her shoulders, neck, and head.

transition onto side and pause.
