this evening i had the opportunity and privilege to work one-on-one with a women from out of town. she explained that she "does power yoga" in LA and was looking to "counter-pose" the fast, vigorous, and demanding practice. she also requested hip-openers.
throughout the class, there was a delicate balance between offering her the spaciousness to draw from her own practice, while simultaneously providing support and hands on touch through intuitive guidance. the language was new to her..."guide your breath to where you feel it" and "let the breath inspire movement and investigation." i could feel throughout our session that she was releasing, opening, and relaxing into herself more and more. profound!
