7 peeps in class this evening.
take a comfortable seat: allow the spine to undulate, moving the torso in a circular direction. let the head gently follow. take it in the opposite direction. this helps people arrive into their seat. emphasize rooting the sit bones towards the earth and allowing the inhalation to encourage the length of the spine from the tail-bone to the base of the scull, and from the base of the scull out the crown of the head (7 min).
opener: supta baddha konasana with bolster lengthwise under spine and rolled blankets under the knees. guided meditation on moving the breath down towards the navel, 12 min or so).
lengthen legs straight and make circles with the ankles. inhale arms overhead. transition into a cushy side lying rest pose (5 min).
all fours: cat/dog tilt with a bit of freestyle movement.
supported childs pose with bolster between thighs and under the chest.
lounging buddha (aka side lying rest pose): we haven't done this one in ages...it's one of my favorite restorative poses that help to stretch the side waste and in between the ribs, 5 min (both sides).
supported bridge pose with bolster and strap: again, we haven't done this one in ages...it's all about who shows up and the energy in the room that helps to inspire what gets taught. this felt appropriate for tonight's crowd. transition onto side.
supported spinal twist with bolster, 3 to 5 min (both sides).
savasana with bolster and rolled blanket under knees.
