1/10/08 restorative 9 peeps showed up.
giving peeps the option of moving as they like is important.
a little bit of movement of the spine- cat/cow tuck, down dog exploration
helps to set the tone of listening within and "going to where you feel it".
doing less and going deeper. allowing for time between each posture.
really emphasizing moving from the inside out. taking your time, being indulgent between transitions.
teaching well is all about being present with who shows up to class.
being assertive and attentive to people's energy and body requires slowing way down.
having no agenda, and "daring to do as you're guided to do".
holding a safe, nurturing, and supportive space. taking the time to demonstrate getting into the pose. picking and choosing my words thoughtfully to assist in gracefully transitioning out of the pose.
being honest with what i know (and don't know).
speak from my own truth, not someone elses...this is key to the art of transmission.
allowing myself to come through. not holding back.
staying light helps to keep the mood light and clear.
acknowledge in class that stuff may come up- emotions, thoughts, memories, feelings-
can we allow ourselves to really feel what it is we are feeling without judgment? breathing into it to create space in the inner landscape of our hearts and minds.
this is the art of healing ourselves from within.
can we be vulnerable together? TRUST is vital in this work.
to allow for the genuine opening, we must trust ourselves, each other, the environment enough to surrender and let go. release. stretch. expand into love.
